Bridal FAQ

  • Do I need to make an appointment to shop?

We want to get to know YOU and hear all about the vision for your wedding beforehand so when you walk through the door, we're already friends! We'll have a phone call prior to your appointment so we can curate a selection of dresses based on your vision.  We want to give you our undivided attention so we request an appointment be made.

  • WHAT IF MY WEDDING IS LESS THAN 6 MONTHS?

Don’t lose sleep over it!  Some of our fantastic designers offer an expedited option that gets your dress in the store sooner.  It is always an option to purchase your dress from our showroom as well.

  • What size are the sample dresses?

Our in store samples run from sizes 4-22 but can also be ordered in additional sizes.  Our stylists have tricks to make the dress fit as closely as possible.  We will take measurements and discuss sizing to ensure you get the best size when ordering.

  • IS THERE A LIMIT ON GUESTS THAT CAN COME WITH ME?

This day is about YOU!  We’ve learned the more people involved in an appointment, the more opinions there are and the bride’s vision can get lost.  We want to help you choose the dress you feel fabulous in without you worrying about what everyone else is thinking.

We offer reveal appointments so you can bring in your best girls to see the dress after you have said yes.

Please refer to our suite options when booking to best accommodate your number of guests.

  • How long does it take t0 creATE MY DRESS AFTER ITS BEEN ORDERED?

Our curated designers allow about 5-6 months to create your dress, just for you! Most of our dresses aren’t mass produced in a big factory; they are unique works of art created by artisans within their own studios. Also, some of our dresses are made to measure, which means they are crafted based on your measurements, not just the size chart. However, keep in mind that adjustments will still need to be made and we recommend leaving plenty of time for a seamstress to perfect your dress. Seamstresses have numerous brides as well so give them months ahead to fit into their schedule. We can give you recommendations of some amazing seamstresses. We recommend ordering your dress 9-12 months before your wedding.

  • I HAVE HEARD WEDDING DRESSES RUN 2-3 SIZES smaller THAN EVERYDAY CLOTHES. IS THAT TRUE?

Each designer has their own unique size chart.  You could be one size with one company and 1-2 sizes bigger or smaller in another designer’s dresses.  Our lineup of artisans is unique because some follow the European size chart so the sizing will be completely different than what American sizing is.  Trust that our stylists have been trained in translating these sizes to ensure your best fit.  You are the only one who sees the size number so base your decision on the feeling of the dress, not a number.

Sartorial FAQ

  • I don't wear suits, so what do I even get?

We don’t consider bespoke clothing to be a “luxury”— we think everyone deserves to wear clothes that fit! So, even if you’re not the type who wears daily suits, bespoke clothing is a great option for building out your wardrobe with shirts (dress, casual, and formal), slacks, sports coats, and even that outfit you pull out whenever you have that special occasion.

  • I want to shop online. do you have anything i can browse?

An in-store consultation session with a designer is the best way to shop! In the constantly evolving fashion world, fabrics change faster than the seasons and we have hundreds of options to choose from. As a result, we don’t have an online catalogue.

Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to check out some examples of our custom creations. And definitely contact us if you have a specific color or style in mind!

  • How does pricing work?

Our process is unique because every factor is customized just for you. The two main contributing factors for pricing are the cost per yard of your chosen fabrics and the yardage of fabric needed to make your garment. After you’re measured, we calculate the necessary yardage to quote an exact price for your garment.

  • I've gained weight. What if my suit doesn't fit after I get measured?

No worries! We think that you’re perfect exactly as you are. You shouldn’t have to change in order to fit your clothes. We’ll ensure that your garments are tailored precisely to you before you leave the store.

  • I don't live locally. How can I shop with you?

Your consultation is scheduled in-house with a personal designer because we’ll be discussing all of your fabric choices (don’t worry—we’ll guide you through the hundreds of swatches) and styling, taking your exact measurements, and creating a bespoke pattern just for you. Consider this a great opportunity to make Fremont a destination trip!

  • What's the difference between bespoke and made-to-measure?

Bespoke tailoring is the process of creating a garment entirely from scratch, tailored to your specific measurements and personal preferences. You get to choose every aspect of the garment, including fabric, cut, details, and styling. The garment is crafted from a blank slate with no pre-existing patterns.

Made-to-measure tailoring involves modifying a pre-existing pattern based on a client's measurements and preferences. While a client can choose from various fabrics and styles, the level of customization is less extensive than bespoke. Adjustments are made to a standard pattern. These garments are often partially machine-made, with some elements finished by hand.
